Beers Sweeps National and SEC Weekly Honors
Oklahoma’s Eric Beers Honored for Record-Setting Track Performance
University of Oklahoma junior Eric Beers has added another accolade to his impressive track and field career, sweeping both the national and conference weekly awards.
The recognition comes after Beers' remarkable performance at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he set a new school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:28.73.
His performance earned him the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week honor, the first of his career, as well as the SEC Male Runner of the Week distinction for the second time this season.
Beers' record-setting run not only broke the previous Oklahoma record but also placed him among the top 10 performers in the NCAA this season.
He now holds the Oklahoma school record in both the indoor and outdoor 3,000-meter steeplechase events.
Beers' success highlights the exceptional talent and dedication within the Oklahoma track and field program.
He is a two-time All-American and has consistently delivered exceptional performances throughout his collegiate career.
