Blizzard digs StarCraft out of the attic just long enough to release a Hearthstone mini set with cards featuring the Zerg, Terran, and more
StarCraft is back once again, but this time it’s in Hearthstone
StarCraft fans may have gotten a bit of a surprise this morning as Blizzard unexpectedly announced a new mini set for Hearthstone that will be bringing StarCraft units and characters to the game. The mini set, titled United in Stormwind, will contain 35 new cards that will include new units, spells, and a new keyword.
The new keyword, called Unite, will allow players to combine two minions of the same race into a single, more powerful minion. This mechanic is similar to the Frenzy keyword that was introduced in the Forged in the Barrens expansion, but with a twist. With Unite, players will be able to combine minions of any class, as long as they are of the same race.
The United in Stormwind mini set will be released on November 2nd and will be available for purchase in the Hearthstone in-game shop. The set will also be available as part of the new United in Stormwind bundle, which will include 15 United in Stormwind card packs, 2 United in Stormwind Legendary cards, and the new United in Stormwind card back.
Here are some of the new cards that will be included in the United in Stormwind mini set:
- Zagara (Legendary, Hunter): 5 mana 5/6 Beast. Battlecry: Summon two 1/1 Roach minions.
- Hydralisk (Epic, Hunter): 5 mana 4/8 Beast. When this minion attacks a minion, deal 2 damage to all other enemy minions.
- Terran Marine (Common, Neutral): 2 mana 2/2 Mech. Whenever this minion attacks, deal 1 damage to the enemy hero.
- Protoss Adept (Rare, Mage): 3 mana 3/2 Mech. Whenever this minion attacks, gain +1 Spell Damage.
The United in Stormwind mini set is sure to add some excitement to the Hearthstone meta. With its new cards and new keyword, the set will give players new ways to play the game and create new and exciting decks.
