Bucks Guard Provides Optimistic Injury Update After Exiting Win Over Raptors
Giannis Antetokounmpo leaves game with knee soreness, but says he's 'feeling good'
Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo left Friday night's game against the Toronto Raptors with left knee soreness, but he said after the game that he's "feeling good" and expects to play in the team's next game.
Antetokounmpo exited the game with 3:20 remaining in the third quarter after he collided with Raptors forward Pascal Siakam while driving to the basket. He went to the locker room for examination and did not return to the game.
"I just felt a little bit of soreness in my knee," Antetokounmpo said after the game. "I went to the locker room, got it checked out, and everything looked good. I'm feeling good now. I'll be ready for the next game."
The Bucks went on to win the game 115-102, but Antetokounmpo's injury is a concern for the team. The reigning MVP is averaging 31.8 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game this season, and he is a key part of the Bucks' success.
Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer said after the game that he was not sure if Antetokounmpo would be able to play in the team's next game, which is Sunday against the Indiana Pacers. But Antetokounmpo said he expects to be in the lineup.
"I'm feeling good," Antetokounmpo said. "I'll be ready to go on Sunday."
