Devon Sawa Is “Excited” For ‘Idle Hands’ Reimagining As He Shares Son’s Hilarious Reaction

Sawa Has High Hopes for Remake, Recalls Son's Amusing Antics

Devon Sawa is ecstatic about the upcoming reimagining of the 1999 horror classic Idle Hands, and he recently shared his son's hilarious reaction to the original film.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sawa expressed his enthusiasm for the remake, saying, "I'm really excited about it. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. The script is really good, and the director is great."

Sawa also revealed that his 10-year-old son was less than impressed with the original Idle Hands. "He watched it with me the other day, and he was like, 'Dad, this movie is so stupid,'" Sawa recalled with a laugh. "But I think that's part of what makes it so great. It's just so over-the-top and ridiculous."

“Idle Hands” follows Anton Tobias, a teenager whose right hand becomes possessed by a demonic force and starts killing people.

The film was a critical and commercial failure upon its release but has since gained a cult following. Sawa believes that the remake will appeal to both fans of the original and newcomers to the story.

"I think it's going to be a great movie for people who loved the original, and I think it's also going to be a great movie for people who have never seen it before," Sawa said. "It's a really fun, scary, and funny movie."

The remake of Idle Hands is scheduled to be released in 2024.

The film will be directed by Rodman Flender, who also directed the original film. The cast includes Rob Riggle, Joel McHale, and Sawa himself in a cameo role.

Sawa is confident that the remake will be a success and is eager to see how audiences react to it. "I think it's going to be a really great movie," Sawa said. "I can't wait for people to see it."
