Hurley Optimistic About ASU Basketball Ahead of GCU Game
Sun Devils Look to Rebound After Loss to Arizona Wildcats
Coming off a disappointing home loss to the Arizona Wildcats, the Arizona State Sun Devils (4-3) will look to rebound when they host the Grand Canyon Antelopes (3-3) on Tuesday night at Desert Financial Arena.
After starting the season with four straight wins, including an impressive victory over then-No. 20 Michigan, the Sun Devils have dropped three of their last four games. The most recent loss was a 70-67 defeat at home against their rivals, the Arizona Wildcats.
Despite the recent struggles, head coach Bobby Hurley remains optimistic about his team's potential.
Hurley sees Progress Despite Recent Losses
Sun Devils Still Learning and Growing
“We're still a young team that's learning and growing,” Hurley said. “We've had some tough losses lately, but I've seen a lot of progress from our guys. I'm confident that we can turn things around and make a run in the Pac-12. I'm excited to see what we can accomplish the rest of the season.”
The Sun Devils will be looking to get back on track against a Grand Canyon team that is also coming off a loss.
GCU Coming Off Loss to New Mexico State
Antelopes Look to Bounce Back
The Antelopes lost 75-66 to New Mexico State on Saturday night in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Despite the loss, GCU head coach Bryce Drew is confident that his team can bounce back and give the Sun Devils a competitive game on Tuesday night.
“Arizona State is a very talented team,” Drew said. “They're well-coached and they play hard. We're going to have to be at our best to compete with them. But I believe in our guys and I know they're ready for the challenge.”
The game between ASU and GCU is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. MST on Tuesday night at Desert Financial Arena. The game will be televised on Pac-12 Network.
