‘Idle Hands’ Star Devon Sawa Reacts to Finn Wolfhard’s Planned Reboot
A new version of the cult classic horror-comedy is in the works, and the original star has some thoughts
Devon Sawa, who starred in the 1999 cult classic horror-comedy "Idle Hands," has reacted to the news that a reboot of the film is in the works. The reboot will be directed by Jason Eisener and will star Finn Wolfhard of "Stranger Things" fame.
Sawa's reaction
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Sawa said that he was "excited" to hear about the reboot and that he thought Wolfhard was a "great choice" to play the lead role.
"I think it's a great idea," Sawa said. "I think it's a great time to revisit that movie. I think it's a classic. I think it's one of those movies that people really love and I think it's going to be really cool to see what they do with it."
Sawa also said that he would be open to appearing in the reboot in some capacity, but that he would only do so if it made sense for the story.
"I'm not sure what my role would be, but if it makes sense for the story, I'm all for it," Sawa said.
The new reboot
The reboot of "Idle Hands" is still in the early stages of development, but Eisener has said that he wants to make a film that is both faithful to the original and also fresh and new.
"I want to make a movie that's respectful of the original, but also something that stands on its own," Eisener said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
The reboot is expected to be released in 2024.
