Jannik Sinner sees off Taylor Fritz: ATP Finals tennis – as it happened
Jannik Sinner has reached the semi-finals of the ATP Finals with a 7-6 (4), 6-3 victory over Taylor Fritz. The Italian was in impressive form, breaking Fritz’s serve three times and saving all five break points he faced. He will now face either Rafael Nadal or Casper Ruud in the last four.
Fritz made a positive start to the match, breaking Sinner’s serve in the opening game. However, Sinner broke back immediately and the set went with serve until the tie-break. Sinner was the more aggressive player in the tie-break and he took it 7-4.
Sinner broke Fritz’s serve again in the first game of the second set and he held on to his lead to take the set 6-3. Fritz had a chance to break back in the seventh game but Sinner saved two break points and held on to his serve.
Sinner is now one of the favorites to win the ATP Finals. He has been in impressive form all week and he will be confident of beating either Nadal or Ruud in the semi-finals.
