Luis wastes no time winning silverware with Flamengo as final marred by post-match fighting
Flamengo won the Campeonato Carioca trophy on Saturday night after thrashing rivals Fluminense in the final.
Gabriel Barbosa, Pedro and Gabigol were all on target as Flamengo won 3-1 at the Maracana in a match that saw a mass brawl erupt at full-time.
It took just 12 minutes for Flamengo to take the lead as Barbosa converted a penalty after Willian had been tripped.
Pedro doubled the advantage 10 minutes later with a header from close range, before Gabi-gol made it 3-0 in the 56th minute.
Fluminense pulled a goal back through Germán Cano in the 76th minute, but it proved to be a mere consolation.
The match was marred by a mass brawl at the end of the game, with players from both sides involved.
Flamengo boss Paulo Sousa said he was "not happy" with the scenes, while Fluminense coach Abel Braga called for an investigation.
Despite the ugly scenes at the end of the game, Flamengo's victory was a memorable one for the club and their fans.
The win means that Flamengo have now won the Campeonato Carioca 37 times, more than any other club.
It is also the first trophy of the season for Flamengo, who will be looking to add to their silverware collection in the coming months.
Flamengo will next be in action on Wednesday night when they face Sao Paulo in the Copa do Brasil.
