The Bulldogs opened their season with a pair of impressive wins over Baylor and Arizona State. Against Baylor, Gonzaga led by as many as 20 points in the second half before holding on for a 83-71 victory. Against Arizona State, Gonzaga led by as many as 27 points before winning 89-67.The wins over Baylor and Arizona State were a great start to the season for the Bulldogs. Gonzaga is now 2-0 and ranked No. 1 in the country. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Monday, November 15th, when they host Texas A&M.
Coach Few's Golden Summer at the Olympics
Coach Few was an assistant coach for the United States men's basketball team at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The team won a gold medal, and Coach Few was praised for his work with the team.In an interview with The Spokesman-Review, Coach Few said that the experience was "a dream come true." He also said that he learned a lot from Team USA head coach Gregg Popovich.
Other News and Notes
In other news, Gonzaga has announced that it will be hosting the NCAA Tournament first and second rounds in 2023.The Bulldogs are also scheduled to play in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas from November 23rd to 25th. Gonzaga will face off against Southern Utah, Iowa State, and Baylor in the tournament.
