Men's Basketball Continues Tough Road Trip With Meetings Against Illinois and Top-Ranked Kansas
Jayhawks have won 15 straight games overall
Illinois has won four of last five games
No. 11 Tennessee basketball's road trip continues this week with a pair of huge matchups against Illinois and No. 1 Kansas.
The Vols (10-3) will face Illinois (12-3) in Champaign, Illinois, on Tuesday night before traveling to Lawrence, Kansas, to take on the Jayhawks (15-1) on Saturday night.
Both games will be tough tests for Tennessee, but they are also opportunities for the Vols to prove themselves against some of the best teams in the country.
Illinois is a talented team that is coming off a four-game winning streak. The Illini have a balanced scoring attack, led by Kofi Cockburn, who is averaging 20.1 points and 11.6 rebounds per game.
Kansas is the top-ranked team in the country and for good reason. The Jayhawks have won 15 straight games and have a deep and talented roster, led by Ochai Agbaji, who is averaging 20.1 points per game.
Tennessee will need to play its best basketball in both games to come away with victories. The Vols will need to defend well, rebound the basketball and hit shots from the outside.
If Tennessee can do those things, it will have a chance to knock off two of the best teams in the country and prove that it is a legitimate contender for the national championship.
