NBA Rumors: Bronny James Set to Only Play in Home G League Games for South Bay Lakers

Bronny James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, is set to only play in home games for the South Bay Lakers of the NBA G League, according to sources.

The 20-year-old guard will reportedly only make the trip for home games due to his commitments to his studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

James is averaging 9.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in the G League this season. He has started 11 of the 21 games he has played in.

The South Bay Lakers are the NBA G League affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers. The team is based in El Segundo, California, and plays its home games at the Toyota Sports Center.

James was a highly touted recruit coming out of high school. He was ranked as the No. 1 player in the 2023 class by ESPN and was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year.

James committed to UCLA in November 2022. He is expected to join the Bruins for the 2024-25 season.
