Nevada Wolf Pack Men's Basketball Gets Vital Non-Conference Win vs. Weber State
Pack Dominates Wildcats Early, Holds On Late
The Nevada Wolf Pack men's basketball team took care of business on Tuesday night, defeating the Weber State Wildcats 78-64 in a non-conference matchup at Lawlor Events Center.
The Wolf Pack got off to a hot start, shooting 50% from the field in the first half and taking a 40-26 lead into the break. Nevada continued to shoot well in the second half, finishing the game at 47.4% from the field.
Junior guard Jarod Lucas led the way for Nevada with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Senior forward Tre Coleman added 17 points and 8 rebounds, while freshman guard Nick Davidson chipped in 12 points.
Wolf Pack Defense Shines in Second Half
The Wolf Pack defense was impressive in the second half, holding Weber State to just 33.3% shooting from the field. Nevada also forced 10 turnovers in the second half, which led to several easy baskets in transition.
Senior forward AJ West led the Wildcats with 16 points, while junior guard Dillon Jones added 14 points. However, the Wolf Pack defense was able to limit the Wildcats' other top scorers, holding senior forward Koby McEwen to just 8 points on 3-of-11 shooting.
Nevada Improves to 5-4
With the win, Nevada improves to 5-4 on the season. The Wolf Pack will next be in action on Saturday, December 10th, when they travel to take on the San Francisco Dons.
Weber State falls to 4-6 on the season. The Wildcats will next be in action on Thursday, December 8th, when they host the Montana State Bobcats.
