Introduction
Ratan Tata is an Indian industrialist, philanthropist, and former chairman of the Tata Group. He is the great-grandson of Tata Group founder Jamsetji Tata and the son of Naval Tata. Ratan Tata was born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, India. He graduated from Cornell University with a degree in architecture and structural engineering.After working for Tata Group for several years, Ratan Tata became chairman in 1991. Under his leadership, the Tata Group grew from a $5 billion company to a $100 billion company. Ratan Tata also oversaw the Tata Group's expansion into new businesses, including telecommunications, information technology, and retail.
Ratan Tata is a recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award. He is also a member of the Prime Minister's Council on Trade and Industry.
Ratan Tata's Hindu Faith
Ratan Tata is a devout Hindu. He has said that his faith is a source of strength and guidance for him. Ratan Tata believes that Hinduism teaches the importance of compassion, non-violence, and service to others.Ratan Tata has been involved in a number of Hindu organizations. He is a trustee of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, the governing body of the Tirupati Temple in Andhra Pradesh. Ratan Tata has also donated to the renovation of several Hindu temples.
