Former Texas Tech big man Fardaws Aimaq signs with BYU

PROVO, Utah — Former Texas Tech big man Fardaws Aimaq has signed with BYU men's basketball, the school announced Tuesday.

Aimaq, a 6-foot-11 center, averaged 10.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for the Red Raiders last season. He helped lead Texas Tech to the NCAA Tournament, where they lost to Duke in the Sweet 16.

Aimaq is a big addition to the Cougars' frontcourt

Aimaq is a big addition to the Cougars' frontcourt, which is already one of the best in the country. He joins a group that includes returning starters Gavin Baxter and Richard Harward, as well as former Utah Valley standout Jake Toolson.

With Aimaq in the fold, BYU should be one of the contenders for the West Coast Conference title this season. The Cougars are ranked No. 15 in the preseason AP Poll.

Staton, Burgess also sign with BYU

In addition to Aimaq, BYU also signed guards Jaxon Kohler and Dallin Hall on Tuesday. Kohler is a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Lone Peak High School, while Hall is a 6-foot-1 point guard from Timpview High School.

Kohler and Hall are both highly touted recruits who are expected to contribute immediately for the Cougars. They will join a backcourt that includes returning starters Rudi Williams and Gideon George.

BYU has a bright future with these new additions

With the addition of Aimaq, Kohler, and Hall, BYU has a bright future. The Cougars have a talented and experienced roster that should be able to compete for a national championship this season.
