National Weather Service Issues Tornado Warning for Southern Ontario
A tornado has touched down in Fergus, Ontario, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The NWS has issued a tornado warning for southern Ontario, urging residents to take cover immediately.
The tornado was spotted near the intersection of Highway 6 and County Road 109 at approximately 3:30 p.m. EST. It is moving northeast at 60 kilometers per hour.
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area, with potential for large hail and damaging winds. Residents are advised to seek shelter in a sturdy building and stay away from windows.
The tornado is expected to continue moving northeast, impacting the communities of Elora, Salem, and Arthur. Residents in these areas should be prepared to take cover.
