Watch: Scene of homicide on Market Street in San Francisco outside Embarcadero BART station
San Francisco police are investigating a homicide that occurred on Market Street outside the Embarcadero BART station Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at approximately 6:40 a.m. when officers responded to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not yet released any information about the suspect or the motive for the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
This is the second homicide in San Francisco in less than 24 hours. On Tuesday evening, a man was shot and killed in the Tenderloin district.
The recent uptick in violence has raised concerns among residents and city officials. Mayor London Breed has vowed to crack down on crime and has proposed a number of measures to do so, including increasing police funding and expanding social services.
