Mandhana's Explosive Knock Sets Up Stars' Victory

Smriti Mandhana, the Indian batting sensation, continued her impressive form in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) by smashing back-to-back boundaries against her Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate, Ellyse Perry, in the match between Sydney Stars and Adelaide Strikers.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Mandhana is seen taking on Perry in the second over of the Stars' innings. Perry, known for her exceptional swing bowling, delivered a full toss on the fourth ball. Mandhana, with her characteristic timing and power, drove the ball through the covers for a boundary.

Unfazed, Perry came back with a straighter delivery on the next ball. However, Mandhana was ready for it. She stepped across her stumps and lofted the ball over mid-off for another boundary.

Mandhana's Stellar Performance Guides Stars to Victory

Mandhana's aggressive start set the tone for the Stars' innings. She went on to score a brilliant 52 off just 34 balls, including seven fours and a six.

The left-hander's knock, along with contributions from her teammates, helped the Stars post a challenging total of 161/4.

In response, the Strikers struggled to chase down the target. They were eventually bowled out for 126, handing the Stars a comfortable victory.

Mandhana was named the Player of the Match for her all-round performance. She also took a catch and effected a run-out during the Strikers' innings.

With this win, the Stars moved up to second place in the WBBL standings.
