Mountaineers' Defense Shines in Lopsided Victory

The West Virginia Mountaineers put on a defensive clinic on Wednesday night, holding the UMass Minutemen to just 59 points in an 87-59 victory. The Mountaineers forced 16 turnovers and held the Minutemen to just 36% shooting from the field. Kedrian Johnson led the way for West Virginia with 19 points, while Jalen Bridges added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Tre Mitchell also chipped in with 14 points for the Mountaineers.

The Mountaineers were able to win by a comfortable margin thanks to a balanced scoring attack. Five players scored in double figures for West Virginia, led by Johnson's 19 points.Bridges' 18 points and 10 rebounds helped the Mountaineers dominate the glass, outrebounding UMass 44-30. Mitchell was efficient from the field, shooting 5-of-7 from the field.
