Winter Storm Warning
A cold front is expected to arrive before dinnertime.
Here’s what to expect:
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for our area. The storm is expected to bring heavy snow, ice, and wind. Travel could be difficult or impossible. Please stay home if possible.
The snow is expected to start falling around 5pm. The heaviest snow is expected to fall between 8pm and 11pm. The snow will be accompanied by strong winds, which could gust up to 50 mph. The wind will make it feel even colder than it actually is.
The temperature is expected to drop into the teens overnight. The wind chill could make it feel like it is below zero. Please dress warmly if you must go outside.
The storm is expected to move out of our area by tomorrow afternoon. However, the roads could still be icy and snow-covered. Please use caution when driving.
Here are some tips to stay safe during the storm:
- Stay home if possible.
- If you must go outside, dress warmly in layers.
- Wear a hat, gloves, and scarf.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine.
- Check on elderly neighbors and relatives.
- If you lose power, call your utility company.
