Bob Lee murder trial: Nima Momeni tells jury a ‘bad joke’ led to stabbing
Accused killer Nima Momeni told the jury that his victim Bob Lee started a fight after Momeni made a joke about his appearance
Momeni is charged with Lee’s murder and the trial is underway at the Central Criminal Court in London
In his opening statement, prosecutor Oliver Glasgow QC said that Momeni had stabbed Lee in the heart after an argument in a kebab shop in north London.
Momeni, 21, of no fixed abode, denies murder and claims he acted in self-defence.
He told the jury that he had made a joke about Lee’s appearance and that Lee had taken offence and attacked him.
Momeni said he had pulled out a knife and stabbed Lee in the heart in self-defence.
The trial is expected to last for two weeks.
