Brooklyn Nets Hire Jordi Fernández as Assistant Coach

Former Maine Celtics Head Coach Joins Steve Nash's Staff

Fernández Brings Extensive Coaching Experience to Brooklyn

The Brooklyn Nets have announced the hiring of Jordi Fernández as an assistant coach. Fernández, who most recently served as the head coach of the Maine Celtics, the Boston Celtics' NBA G League affiliate, brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Nets organization.

During his tenure with the Maine Celtics, Fernández led the team to a 35-15 record and the NBA G League Eastern Conference Finals in 2021. Prior to joining the Maine Celtics, Fernández spent five seasons as an assistant coach with the Celtics, where he helped the team win the 2018 NBA championship.

Fernández's coaching philosophy emphasizes player development and a team-first approach. He is known for his ability to build strong relationships with players and for his attention to detail in game preparation and scouting.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jordi to our coaching staff," said Nets head coach Steve Nash. "He is a highly respected coach with a proven track record of success. His experience and knowledge will be invaluable to our team as we continue to build towards a championship."

Fernández is the latest addition to Nash's coaching staff, which also includes assistant coaches Jacque Vaughn, Mike D'Antoni, and Amar'e Stoudemire. The Nets are expected to be a contender for the NBA championship in the upcoming season, and Fernández's addition to the coaching staff is a sign of their commitment to building a winning team.
