Finn Wolfhard, Billy Bryk to Reteam With Producer Jason Reitman for 'Idle Hands' Remake at Sony (EXCLUSIVE)

Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk are set to reunite with producer Jason Reitman for a remake of the 1999 horror comedy 'Idle Hands' at Sony Pictures.

Wolfhard and Bryk will play the lead roles in the film, which is being directed by Chris Columbus ('Home Alone', 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone'). Reitman, who directed the original film, is producing the remake alongside Akiva Goldsman, Greg Berlanti, and Mickey Liddell.

The original 'Idle Hands' starred Devon Sawa as a teenage boy whose possessed right hand goes on a killing spree. The film was a critical and commercial failure, but it has since gained a cult following.

The remake is said to be a more faithful adaptation of the original source material, the 1999 comic book of the same name by Chris Kattan, who was a cast member on Saturday Night Live at the time.

Wolfhard is best known for his role as Mike Wheeler in the Netflix series 'Stranger Things'. He has also appeared in the films 'It' and 'It Chapter Two'. Bryk is best known for his role as Troy in the Netflix series '13 Reasons Why'. He has also appeared in the films 'The Hate U Give' and 'The King of Staten Island'.

Reitman is best known for directing the films 'Juno', 'Up in the Air', and 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife'. He is also the son of Ivan Reitman, who directed the original 'Ghostbusters' films.

The 'Idle Hands' remake is scheduled to begin production in the fall of 2023.
