Huskies Find a Way to Win After They Can't Find the Hoop
An incredible win for an incredible team
Hard fought and a great game by both teams
The Huskies women's basketball team won a wild game against the Cougars on Friday night, 82-79, in overtime. The Huskies were down by 10 points with just over two minutes to play in regulation, but they rallied to tie the game and force overtime.
In overtime, the Huskies took the lead for good on a jumper by senior guard Katie Reinprecht with 1:31 left to play. The Cougars had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but a three-pointer by junior guard Chantel Osahor was off the mark.
The Huskies were led by Reinprecht, who had 22 points and 10 rebounds. Osahor added 19 points and 12 rebounds, and sophomore forward Aarion McDonald had 18 points and 11 rebounds.
The Cougars were led by senior guard Lexie Hull, who had 25 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Haley Van Lith added 22 points, and senior forward Lauren Fields had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Huskies improved to 12-4 overall and 3-1 in Pac-12 play. The Cougars fell to 11-5 overall and 2-2 in Pac-12 play.
The Huskies will next play on Sunday afternoon at home against the Oregon Ducks. The Cougars will next play on Saturday night at home against the Oregon State Beavers.
